    • Abstract ( 952 )
    • Based on the development trend of network service and the development status of all-optical network, this paper analyzes the architecture and key feature of all-optical network, and proposes the future development direction of all-optical network, including automation, intelligence, high reliability and metro extension. At the same time, the basic key technologies supporting the evolution of all-optical network are studied, including optical-layer scheduling, optical-layer digitalization, and electrical-layer scheduling. Optical-electrical collaborative operation can fully meet the network requirements of low latency, large bandwidth and high reliability. With the rapid and significant reduction of WSS cost, ROADM will gradually evolve from the backbone network to the metro edge network, supporting the wide deployment of all-optical network.

    • Abstract ( 531 )
    • Facing the new infrastructure construction, China Telecom put forward the transformation strategy of “Integration of cloud and network ”, and took the lead in proposing and practicing the concept of “ all-optical network”. Among them, the backbone all-optical network is the first step, the goal is to form an inter-province and intra-province integrated backbone all-optical network covering the whole country, and consolidate the bandwidth cornerstone of the new information infrastructure. Based on the demand analysis, this paper makes an in-depth analysis on the current technology and future development trend of China Telecom backbone all-optical network, including high speed large capacity optical transmission, extended band, new type of optical fiber, all-optical switching technology, etc. Hope to provide reference for related technology research and industrial development work, and jointly promote the development of all-optical network technology.

    • Abstract ( 764 )
    • Firstly, three ways to improve the capacity of long-haul optical transmission system are analyzed, and then the research progress and standardization trends of the 3 technical hot-spots are introduced including long-haul 400G, multi-band transmission with wave-band extension and space division multiplexing (SDM). After that the application prospects of SDM and multi-band transmission technologies. Finally, a 400Gbit / s per wavelength real-time transmission experiment over C + L band is carried out to verify the improvement of channel power flatness and transmission penalty brought by optical channel power equalization technique. The research shows that compared with SDM, C + L band expansion is more practical for commercial deployment in the short term. For C + L band 400G transmission system, power equalization can improve the OSNR bottleneck of the system and reduce the nonlinear penalty of L band.

    • Abstract ( 390 )
    • Extending more usable optical bandwidth is an effective solution for dealing with the transmission capacity demand multiplication. It is with acceptable performance and easy for management by extending conventional CBand to super CBand. Adding Lband amplifier in parallel with CBand amplifier will bring some performance penalty, while almost double the bandwidth. The technical solution for further extending to super Lband is still under investigation, to study how to achieve high pump conversion efficiency as well as gain flatness.

    • Abstract ( 462 )
    • Nowadays, the optical network is developing towards complex network environment and intelligent management and control system. There is no doubt that the intelligent management and control of the optical network is based on the accurate perception of the network. The digital twin technology uses a large number of perception units in the network system, combined with the network prior model, to carry out real-time and accurate “ mapping” of the network operating status and performance, thereby in the digital world an accurate “ copy” of the real network is obtained, enabling accurate analysis, automatic control and performance optimization of the real network. Data collection is an important part of the digital twin system in optical networks. Once a problem occurs during the collection stage, the performance of the system will be severely affected. This paper will conduct preliminary analysis and modeling of these problems, and discuss about the existing and potential solutions.

    • Abstract ( 913 )
    • The digital economy has flourished in recent years. The digital industrialization has accelerated the intergenerational overlap; the digital transformation of industries has speeded up; the contradiction between supply and demand of talents has become increasingly prominent; and the digital talent gap has become an important bottleneck restricting the development of China􀆳s digital economy. Through an in-depth analysis of the current three types of shortages faced by China􀆳s digital talents: quantitative shortage, quality shortage and structural shortage, this article discusses the main reasons in three dimensions, including supply, demand and supporting environment. Finally, policy suggestions to deal with the shortages of digital talents are proposed in the light of the actual need to promote the healthy development of digital economy.
