Abstract: Traditional industries have always been Chinese pillar industries, the improvement of quality and efficiency of which is closely related to the high-quality development of Chinese economy. This article starts with the importance of activating the development momentum of traditional industry, and analyzes in detail the main problems of the old momentum such as resource consumption, investment stimulus and export pull, and those of the new momentum characterized by innovation. On this basis, it proposes the suggestions for activating the development momentum of traditional industries, which includes to promote the transfer of industries with order and plan, improve the level of industrial international cooperation, strengthen industrial chain integration, and implement innovation-driven strategy.
