Abstract: With the wide coverage of broadband access in China and the incentive of the national policy of increasing speed and reducing fees, the number of broadband users has increased dramatically. IP network is facing greater operational pressure. With the bandwidth increase, various applications are booming, especially video and game. The rapid growth of applications and customers makes users have different needs for service quality. Operators will also provide personalized services and price selection according to customer market segmentation, precise marketing and different needs of customers. In order to adapt to the network level of marketing strategy, it is necessary to achieve end- to- end differentiated services through technical means, and to deploy and open rapidly after users order. This paper mainly studies the technical means of differentiated service in IP network, including the principle of implementation, indicators to be concerned, deployment location(homegateway, access network, IPnetwork), openingmethodand so on.
