Abstract:

This paper proposes a cooperative vehicle-infrastructure system that enables city-level traffic light information open service through direct communication (LTE-V2X PC5) or cellular communication (4G/5G Uu). It thoroughly analyzes the construction and implementation of this system in four key technical aspects: information acquisition, information communication, information processing, and information application. Then, it introduces specific solutions for diverse application directions or scenarios, exploring the potential of these technologies and solutions in improving traffic efficiency, reducing costs, and bolstering road safety. It also proposes an innovative city-level traffic light information open service architecture. This paper serves as an essential reference for the advancement of cooperative vehicle-infrastructure technology, and as a guide for the development of city-level intelligent traffic systems.

Key words: cooperative vehicle-infrastructure system, intelligent traffic, LTE-V2X direct communication, 4G/5G cellular communication, traffic light information open service
