Abstract:

At present, the digital economy has become important support and a key driving force for promoting global economic and social development. Many countries and regions around the world, including China and ASEAN, are actively promoting the development of digital economy. China’s digital economy currently ranks second in the world in terms of development scale, and has many development advantages in policy, technology, application, and industry. The demand for digital economy development in the ASEAN region is strong, but the development foundation is weak. Therefore, China and ASEAN are highly complementary in promoting the development of digital economy. This paper deeply analyzes the basic development characteristics of the current digital economy in the ASEAN region. Then, it summarizes the current situation of China-ASEAN cooperation and development in the field of digital economy. Finally, it puts forward corresponding countermeasures and suggestions.
