Research on fostering AI industrial talents in new development stage in China

Abstract

Abstract: China has entered a new development stage. As one of the strategic technologies leading the new round of revolution in research, innovation and industry, AI plays an active role in building new strengths, but there are “stranglehold”problems in some critical aspects. To tackle these problems and keep the impetus of AI for achieving high-quality development of economy, the key lies in talents. Thus, this paper investigates the status quo of AI industrial talents, and analyzes some practices and problems in educating and training AI industrial talents. In order to better accommodate talent demand in the new development stage, the paper also raises four fundamentals in this regard:centering on national strategies, following industry demands, reinforcing integration of different disciplines and upgrading skills.
