Abstract: Because of the development of the market requirements and technologies, video surveillance industry has been increasing quickly in China, and its intelligent progress has also been accelerating accordingly. From the front-end equipments to the back- end ones, artificial intelligence technology has been widely used in the video surveillance industry. Due to their advantages, domestic video surveillance chips have occupied a large scale of the market, and domestic intelligent chips have a good prospect in this industry. In this paper, development background for video surveillance industry will be first introduced, and intelligent progress will then be studied in both requirement and technology aspects, a deeper analysis of the Chinese video surveillance chips will also be given. Finally, the development trends of the video surveillance industry will be concluded.
