Research on radio frequency OTA testing technology applicable to 5G

Abstract: The radio frequency index of base stations before 5G are mostly tested by conduction test. However, due to the application of Massive MIMO technology in the 5G era, the complexity of the conduction test has been greatly increased, and the conduction test fully characterizes the radio frequency performance of the base station. This paper introduces the impact of 5G key technologies on radio frequency index testing, and then analyzes the disadvantages of traditional testing in 5G base station testing through interpretation of the 3GPP standard. Finally, the testing scheme and improvement scheme that can adapt to the current testing method of 5G base station radio frequency index are analyzed.
