Abstract: With the rapid development of the internet, it has become a trend to increase the number of root server instances.Therefore, a scientific and reasonable theory were put forward to provide a reference for the introduction and deployment of root server instances in China.Firstly, combining with the actual situation of root server instances deployment in China at present, the overall introduction deployment strategy was given.Then the number and type of the root server instances were suggested through data analysis.Then, by means of detection or collection, we obtained root parse data, recursive parse service data and internet development data in China, and obtained the recommended provinces and operator networks for root server instances deployment by the normalized weighted calculation model.At last, some suggestions on the supervision of root server instances were given from the aspects of system and technology.The results showed that the optimal deployment scheme could be determined by scientific means, which provided a new idea for planning the deployment of root server instances in China.
