Epidemic response and data protection in Europe and America

Abstract

Abstract: The sudden outbreak of COVID-19 brought unprecedented challenges to the global medical system and social operation mode. Legislation and regulatory agencies in various countries remind the public to pay attention to data security and privacy protection while preventing the epidemics. This article sorts out the institutional documents and regulatory policies in four key areas issued by EU and US during the pandemic, and analyzes their policy implications and enlightenments.
