Abstract: Recently, the combination satellite communications with terrestrial networks becomes a new trend of development.Many countries are stepping up efforts to build the systems in order to seize the intiative. In this paper, we introduce the main systems of integrated satellite and terrestrial networks. Then, the standards development status of satellite communications and integrated satellite and terrestrial networks in international standard development organizations are analyzed, including development process, scenarios, architectures, issues and related solutions.
